GENIUS:

Genius is a website that effectively informs its viewers on different genres and musical artists that are popular at the current time of viewing. Much like the billboard website, it also demonstrates clearly to its audiences who is where in the charts, this is effective as it can attract those that are interested in mainstream artists and those that are new who are working to create a larger fanbase. Genius also works effectively in attracting audiences as the website as it holds interviews with artists that make the viewers feel as though they can create a relationship with their favourite artists, this also helps to create an active audience as it allows those interacting to create accounts and comment on those interview videos expressing their own opinions and views that they may have. Linking back to the point of people being able to find new artists, Genius offers a chance for those who are new to the music industry to ‘Promote with Genius’, and their advertising services that range in price from as cheap as, $700 all the way to the most expensive being, $6,000. They clearly depict how active their audiences are by displaying on the video page their ‘COMMUNITY’ that allows audiences to become, moderators, editors and transcribers, amongst many more. They have also applied to their younger audiences by tagging their social media accounts of Facebook, Instagram, twitter and YouTube on their home page for easy access. They predominantly apply to middle class audiences as they have a free accessible page that everyone can access if they are able to get internet. They also present a search bar that audiences can directly find what they are asking for, this is successful in applying to multiple audiences as they have tailored their website to gain as much widespread interaction as possible. Finally, with multiple languages, they have created a global audience that is active in attending the website.
