BILLBOARD:

Billboard is an effective website at holding an audience as it covers multiple categories/ genres of music by clearly listing them and ranking what is popular based on the time. Through the multiple subheadings, ‘charts’, ’music’, ’video’, ’shop’, ’awards and ‘business’, it is easy to manoeuvre and find what is customised for different individuals. They also have an option to subscribe for the price of $14.99 a month which would allow there to be an active audience who would be enabled to the world of exclusivity that the billboard website allows, such as, unlimited access to the website, all 200+ charts, special reports and priority access to billboard events. This builds a solid fanbase as they would see the benefits of having a subscription which they can share to friends or even with them as there is also a group plan option. Through different music related adverts, they appeal to their target audience and intrigues them into the world of music. By using a subheading of ‘TikTok Billboard Top 50’, the website has inclusivity of those who are younger who might be interested in music and reflects that clearly by using TikTok as a social media app that is predominantly created and used by the younger audiences. This works well as it is a strategy that lets the younger audiences be immersed on the website which could then create a domino effect of them telling their friends to see it and so on. It is also clear that they create enough profit as they have multiple sources of income through their shop as well as the advertisements that they display on their homepage. Billboard also works to inform as the further you scroll down, the more frequent of articles that you see, this would intrigue those that are interested in being knowledgeable as they would be provided with information on each of the artists, they are interested in.
